This blog explores the different aspects of designing the information architecture behind software applications.
What is Information Arctitecture?
There are certainly several definitions out there. One of the most common definitions centers information architecture around the organization of information in web sites. As web sites, IT systems and desktop applications merge, however, I feel that this definition becomes somewhat limiting. In my experience IA concepts can apply to all different sorts of software design problems. For the purposes of this blog, IA is defined as the art and science of designing the structure of data in a shared information environment. Here we will focus on how this applies to data modeling and software design.
